PERMA-TURF is easy to install No special drainage system or geotextile fabric needed
PERMA-TURF Playground Safety
Surface can be installed on top of most surfaces such as sand, gravel, grass or dirt. Asphalt or concrete bases should be removed before installation of any loose-fill material. We recommend that
you follow CPSC guidelines for the installation of loose-fill surfaces under and around play-ground equipment, giving special consideration to fall-zones around each piece. The playground area
should be framed-in with a landscaping border 3 inches above the height of the PERMA-TURF installation. Provided your existing surface has adequate drainage, no extra costly drainage system is needed.
We recommend periodic checks of the installation to ensure maintenance of the 6" depth under and around heavily used equipment. We suggest that the surface be raked and smoothed weekly.
Easy to meet ADA guidelines with PERMA-TURF. By simply adding rolled rubber matting for your accessible routes of travel to your PERMA-TURF installation, you can make your playground wheelchair accessible.
PERMA-TURF meets Federal flammability requirements
The United States Testing Company, using methods described in The Federal Hazardous Substances Act (16CFR 1500.44) for rigid and pliable solids, tested PERMA-TURF and a
major bark mulch brand for flammability. Both products were conditioned to an equal moisture content prior to testing.
A material is considered flammable if it ignites and burns with a self-sustained flame at a rate greater than 0.10 inches per second.
Conclusion: PERM-TURF meets Federal Requirements and is no more flammable than the tested mulch brand. Tests also showed that the ignited PERMA-TURF
specimens were easily extinguished.
